Quick and Easy Super Food Recipes

    by Dr. John H. Maher

All students of the RxforWellness FREE Anti-Aging Course learn from Vol 1, lesson 1 on that I am a big fan of fresh ground flaxseed. It is a protein, fiber, omega 3 fatty acid and phytoestrogen rich Super Food. I am not much on fish and flax pills. It is better, cheaper, and tastier to eat fish and flax. I mean, there are just so many pills you can take, yes?!

Some Smoothies:

1) Whey Pumped, Chocolate, 1-2 scoops
Non-fat milk, 1 cup
ground flax, 2 tbs. (1/8 cup)
1/4 tsp. of cinnamon
1 tsp. Ovaltine

Blend in blender until smooth (Blending on high traps air
and makes it even more filling ). Chase with 8 oz of water.

Eat with 5 prunes

2) UltraMeal, Strawberry, 2 scoops
Water 8 oz or non-fat milk or yogurt
1/2 cup strawberries
1 scoop oat bran
1 scoop ground flax

Blend on high to fill with air.

(This is very filling with all the fiber and air)
Follow with 8 oz of water

Some Cereals:

3) Toasted wheat germ, 1/2 cup
1/4 cup berries, dark cherries or 1 tbs. raisins
or dried cranberries
2 tbs. fresh ground flax
1/4 cup non-fat milk or yogurt
1 heaping tbs. oat or rice bran

4) 1/4 cup Oats then fresh ground in coffee grinder
1/4 cup Shredded Wheat w/ Bran, then fresh ground in
coffee grinder
1 1/2 cups of water
1/4 tsp. of salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. vanilla (optional)
1 tsp. of molasses
2 tbs. ground flax
1/4 fresh or frozen berries

Boil water. Add salt, molasses. Add grains, which being fine ground will cook instantly. Add vanilla and berries, if they are frozen. If fresh, add after heat is turned off.

Then mix in flax with the heat off. Add non-fat milk, plain of fruited yogurt, almond milk or soy milk as desired. Mix and add Whey Pumped to the milk first (or water) for extra protein AND LOWER THE GLYCEMIC INDEX.

These are quick and easy and except for the cold cereal, store well in the refrigerator for "later". These are reasonably well balanced in carbs, protein and fat. They are rich in fiber and omega 3 fats. Plus the goodness of soy (UltraMeal)or whey (whey pumped). And you get one of the at very least two serving of fruit you should eat daily, berries, raisins and prunes being among the most antioxidant rich.

And my kids (12 and 9) eat cereal like this every morning. They have grown up on it so hardly know the difference! BTW, they have never been vaccinated, never taken an anti-biotic, and never been to the doctor (except me of course :-)!
